In the “old” days, North Phoenix meant the areas around Bell and Greenway roads, an easy 15 minute highway drive to the center of Phoenix. But the city of Phoenix has now annexed property north of Carefree Highway and I-17, which is another 20 miles north of the old North Phoenix. So what do we call this area? Until those other guys quit calling their part of Phoenix “North”, we’ll call this area the Far North Phoenix.
