Del Webb "created" Anthem, Arizona back in 1999, as a total package of recreation, schools, businesses, medical facilities and housing. Their plan was to build about 12,000 homes, and the community is over half-way towards its goal. Anthem has 4 elementary schools, 2 church complexes, a new state-of-the-art high school, a new library, a medical complex, a shopping mall, and a large commerce park full of business services to keep you from having to leave Anthem.
Since Anthem was built in the middle of the desert nestled between two mountains, it feels secluded, and that adds to the sense of community that is strong here. The Anthem Community Center serves as the central meeting place for classes (adults and children), pool parties, basketball leagues and exercise classes. In the summer, the Big Splash waterpark serves as the place to cool off out-doors.
Anthem Arizona offers condos, single, and two-story homes for almost every price range. Starting in the $240’s, homes range from 2 bedrooms up to 5.
